Melvin L. DePhamphilis is the Section Chief and member of the Senior Biomedical Research Service, National Institute of Child Health & Human Development, Bethesda, MD. His research group focuses on the problem of initiation of DNA replication in mammals, and the regulation of DNA replication and gene expression at the beginning of mammalian development.
