Decoy Immunization for Mice, Rats, and Hamsters

(Protocol summary only for purposes of this preview site)

Decoy immunization relies on misdirecting T and B cells of the immune system away from immunogenic regions that we do not want to generate antibodies to, allowing the desired region to be profiled. Essentially, it involves immunizing animals with two forms of the targeted protein. One form contains the target protein with the region of interest removed (modified protein). The other form is the intact protein of interest.
